The last 'Eddie' was in 2004. Waves are required to be in the  20 to 30 foot range. Navarro's dropped in from the top of a 25 foot wave straight down on his backhand. He hit with a an explosion of whitewater but emerged and then surfed all the way to the beach to cheering crowds. He earned a perfect 100 points. LUCY PEMONI PHOTO.
